Our Studio

Maggi Colwell Art is a Columbus Ohio based art studio created by Maggi Colwell

we make products to inspire, and be accessible to art fans in 30+ countries worldwide.

The studio creates symbolic and emotionally resonant work that speaks to the inner life. Drawing on mythology, fairy tales, and Jungian psychology, each piece is rooted in spiritual inquiry and archetypal exploration, offering a visual language for the soul’s journey.

Through Chiron Art Therapy, Maggi also offers depth-oriented art therapy groups and workshops that explore healing through image, myth, and creative ritual.

Meet Maggi

Maggi Colwell, MS, ATR-BC

Artist, Dreamer, Ritualist, Jungian Explorer.

I’ve been drawn to image and imagination for as long as I can remember. Symbols, archetypes, myths, and dreams have always been my companions and my compass. My art is born from these companions.

I see painting as a dialogue with the unconscious. It’s an alchemical practice, transforming emotion and mystery into something tangible and expressive.

My process is layered: beginning with intuitive abstraction, evolving into symbolic imagery, and often revealing hidden blacklight forms I could not consciously create. As a mentor Muriel McMahon once said, “It is the unconscious revealed”.

My background include a BA in visual art from Salisbury University (2003), and 12 years of training in ceremonial magic, tarot, astrology, mythology, and the Hermetic Qabala with the Assembly of the Scared Wheel, where I was ordained as a High Priestex in 2011. This work continues to shape my approach to creativity as ritual.

I received my master’s in art therapy from Florida state University in 2018 and am a board - certified art therapist with a Dream pattern certificate from Assisi institute. I am currently a training candidate at the CG Jung institute Zurich, deepening my studies in Jungian psychology and psychoanalysis.

Whether through therapy or painting, I work with the meaning and material that live beneath the surface and pull them into the light of consciousness.

Art is my ritual. My soul is my guide.

Imagination is the image maker,

the ferry that goes between the worlds.
